The post Islander – Summer Ale appeared first on Nick's Honest.
]]>Brewery Lowlander is a very special Dutch brewery since they brew beer with botanicals. They brew with herbs, spices and fruits to create unique and naturally delicious beers. We decided to try the Islander Summer Ale which has a low alcoholpercentage of 3.8%. This beer is inspired by Curacao and it is brewed with the islands’ vitamin C rich orange and dragon fruit.
We were actually quite disappointed by the taste of this beer. It tasted quite watery and it wasn’t as fruity as we expected it to be. Therefore we rate this beer a 2.5/5.

]]>We participated in a giveaway of @pizzabarrijslust and we received the Session IPA from @brouwerijtij from them.
The session IPA is a beer with a strong personality but it has a soft side as well. This IPA is hopped with Citra and Galaxy for a fruity character and for excellent drinkability. While retaining its spicy character, this beer can be tasted just a little more often. The beer has a low alcoholic percentage of 4%. We drank this beer on a sunny day in our garden and we absolutely loved it! It is a very fresh flavoure and not very bitter. Therefore it is quite an easy beer to drink.
We rate this beer a 4/5.

]]>This is already our third interview during the COVID-19 pandemic and this time we interviewed Chef Jeffrey de Vries. He is also known as private chef Cheffrey. You can hire Cheffrey for both small and large groups and he will create, based on dietary requirements, allergies and preferences, a suitable and tasty dinner for all your guests.
We have been following Cheffrey for quite a while now and we can confirm that his dishes are looking absolutely phenomenal!
Cheffery also invested a lot of time in his social media accounts and his efforts definitely paid off. He already has done multiple promotional dinners for various well-known influencers and artists with great succes!
Due to the pandemic, unfortunately nearly all the private diners have been cancelled or postponed. To continue his business, Cheffrey did come up with some creative ways to pursue his passion. He started his own online cooking course which you can follow via his Instagram account. If you are interested you should definitely check it out! Cheffery is also looking forward to start his own cooking studio where a chef’s table will be the main point of focus and this will be the place where the experience of the guests will be surpassed.
If you would like to support this company during these hard times, than it is possible to buy a voucher or gift card on his website www.cheffreyfood.nl. ]]>After our last post about ‘Trigo’ from brewery Founders Brewing Co. from the beerbox, we decided to review our next beer from this box. The beer is from the Dutch brewery Oedipus. The name of this beer is Mannenliefde and this is the very first brew of this brewery.
Mannenliefde is a brew to free beer from predominant ideas about beer as a masculine drink, it’s about openness and vulnerability and diversity.
The beer is a 6% ABV Saison and the brewery has added lemongrass to add freshness, Szechuan pepper to give it a bit of bite and Sorachi ace hops to give it some herbal and coconut aromas.
We liked this beer but it was not something very special. We rate this beer a 3.5/5
Cheers!

]]>Ay, Ay, Caramba! Brewery Breugem launched their new Mexican Lager and we had the opportunity to be one of the first persons to give it a try!
The Caramba has a low alcohol percentage of 3,5% and is therefore perfect to drink with warm weather. We both loved the beer! Luckily for us, we were able to drink a few at the launch!
The beer has a fresh and fruity taste which makes it very refreshing to drink. It also hasn’t got a bitter aftertaste which is very nice! Since Ay, Ay, Caramba is now available I would say, go get yourself some bottles and enjoy this beer with some friends (and with a sombrero on your head of course )! Don’t forget to swing by at their socials at @brouwerijbreugem
