The Mooie Nel IPA from brewery Jopen is definitely something special.
This beer has an alcoholpercentage of 6,5% and it is quite a fruity beer. The beer is named after the water between Haarlem and Spaarndam. Outside the Netherlands this beer is called North Sea IPA.

The beer itself has a bold bitter bite but since we really love heavy bitter beers, this was no problem at all. The beer also smelled really good. You directly smell the citrus- and tropical fruits when you take a sip. This makes it a perfect beer to drink in the summer!
We always love the beers from this brewery but this one is definitely in our top 3. Absolutely recommended! Therefore, we rate this beer with a 4,5/5

An unique combination of juniperberries, rye malt, saison yeast and an aging on red wine barrels? Then we are talking about the Jopen Many-Faced GOT from brewery Jopen.

The name Many-Faced Got refers to the Many-Faced God from the television series Game of Thrones. The blocks on the label of this beer contains references to this series, such as the Drowned God, Old Gods and the
Stranger Seven.

This beer has a very complex and spicy character and the aging on red wine barrels gives an extra dimension to this beer. Moreover, the tones of wood from the barrels gives it an extra powerful taste experience. The beer also has quite a high alcoholpercentage of 10,5%.

We absolutely loved this beer! It has a strong and smooth body and we enjoyed the taste of red wine in this beer. This beer is definitely one of the best beers we drank before!
Therefore we rate this beer a 5/5.

In the Middle Ages, craftsmen produced a masterpiece (Meesterstuk) as an aptitude test. To honor the patron saint ‘Sint Maarten’ of the Haarlem brewers guild, Jopen started to brew a masterpiece every year in limited edition.

The Jopen Meesterstuk 2019 is packed with hints of chocolate, caramel and honey. Furthermore, it has an alcoholpercentage of 10%. The beer has quite a malty taste which we absolutely loved! You can also taste the grassy or floral notes when you drink it.
We had never drank a beer with these kind of flavours before, which made the flavour of this beer a true surprise to us.

We truly loved the smell of this beer and we were happily surprised by the flavour! The taste is definitely special for a limited edition beer. Therefore we rate this beer with a 4/5

This week we drank a very special beer from brewery Breugem which owes it’s name to a specific region in the Netherlands : “de Zaan”.
The Saense Tripel is full of aromas of herbs from the yeast and it has a fresh citrus-like character from a mixture of American and German hops.
It is an intense and complex Dutch tripel and it is a very easy beer to drink. This beer won the third prize of the tastiest Tripel at the Beer festival in Groningen in 2016.

Ingredients of the beer:
– Malt: Pils and CaraPils Hops: Hallertau Tradition, Lublin, Centennial and Citra.
– Other ingredients: Barley flakes and candy sugar
– Bitterness: 32 EBU, which means that it is a bitter beer.
– Alcohol percentage: 8.3%

We were pleasantly surprised by the taste of the beer. It tasted exceptionally good! This is definitely one of the best beers that we drank from this brewery! Therefore we would absolutely recommend this beer

  • Breugem Lente Kus

The new spring beer of Breugem is a fresh copper coloured bock beer with a alcohol percentage of 7,3%. It is a traditional spring bock beer with a soft aroma. ❤ We have worked with Breugem for quite some time now and we are therefore able to present you, as one of the first this year, our review of the Lente Kus (Spring Kiss)!

The official launch of the Lente Kus is this Thursday the 20th of February!

The two of us shared this beer on a Vis a Vis Netflix date night. We loved it! The flavour and aroma fits perfectly together. The beer has a wonderful fresh taste which makes it easy to drink. Our glass was empty in no time!
The label of the beer is also on point. It shows for example a lamb and tulips which really fits the theme of spring.

Information about Lente Kus:
– Malt: Munich, Pilsner, Cara Pils en Zuur
– Hop: Hallertau Magnum, Saphir en Perle
– Bitterness: 26 EBU
– Alcohol percentage: 7,3%

We definitely recommend this beer to all the beer lovers who would like to taste a fresh, easy and slightly bitter beer! ❤

  • Brugse Zot beer review

Brugse Zot is a Blond Belgian beer with a alcohol percentage of 6% from Brewery De Halve Maan in Brugge. The gold blond beer has a rich head with a fruity aroma. The brewery brews the beer with four different malts and two different hops which give the beer it’s flavour. The beer itself has some bitterness to it but not too much. I liked the flavour, but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. It’s just easy to drink, has a fruity and spiced smell with an amber colour and a bit too much carbonation/sparkling. I would give the flavour a 7 because I would drink it again, but it didn’t stand out compared to all the other beers I’ve drank. The design of the bottle looks good but in my opinion is not that appealing. Its just a joker of (presumably) Brugge. It fits the name of the beer, but I don’t find it rather attractive or appealing therefore I give the design a 6.
