]]>Recently, we received a beautiful beer box of brewery Elfique. Brewery Elfique is located in Raborive (Belgium) and it got its name from the legend of L’ Elfe de la Bella Roche which is said to appear in this area.
We first drank the Elfique Tripel Brune which is a brown tripel with a complex taste. The beer was not very bitter and we certainly tasted tones of liquorice and prunes.
Furthermore, it has an alcoholpercentage of 8% and it was a beautiful creamy beer.
The only thing which was a little bit disappointing is that the foam quickly disappeared after we poured it.
Nevertheless the Triple Brune is a good beer to drink and it has a very nice smell of apple syrup which we enjoyed very much.
Therefore, we rate this beer a 3,7/5.

]]>L’ Ensemble di Montalcino is a beautiful barley wine aged beer in Brunello di Montalcino barrels. This beer is brewed by the brewery De Dochter van de Korenaar which is situated in Belgium.
The L’ Ensemble di Montalcino has matured for approximately 1 year in these Brunello barrels. This gives the beer a strong infusion of red wine and tannins from the wood.
It is a very powerful and balanced barley wine which will certainly appeal to lovers of the better red wines.
With an alcoholpercentage of 13% and the subtle tones of fruit, wood and hop, it is a beer we absolutely loved. The strong taste of red wine made the beer very delicious and strong. This beer is an absolute gem of the brewery and we would certainly like to drink this beer again! Therefore, we rate this beer a 4,3/5

]]>When the restaurants where still open (it already seems like such a long time since we are in a semi-lockdown again) we visited M’EAT Bar & Grill & Tappunt.
These restaurants started to work together since COVID-19 and we reserved a table at M’EAT. These restaurants are located in Den Bosch and we visited them during our citytrip last September.
We started our evening with a Valse Trippel from the extensive beermenu of Tappunt and some bread with dip. The bread was served in a cute bag and the dips tasted amazing! As a main course, we ordered the Bavette and the M’EAT Hamburger. Both were prepared on the Big Green Egg which gave the meat a beautiful smoky taste. Both of the dishes were very tasty and delicious and we were super happy and satisfied with them. Furthermore, we ordered a St. Bernardus Abt 12, Ons Blackie Imperial Stout and another Valse Trippel since we absolutely loved this beer.
The staff was very kind and funny and we certainly had an wonderful evening here. We would definitely revisit this restaurant when we are in Den Bosch again.
Therefore, we would like to recommended this restaurant to everyone who loves beer and a good piece of M’EAT.

]]>The post Martha Brown Eyes – Beer review appeared first on Nick's Honest.
]]>Our Belgian beer box contained a wide variety of beers. One of them was from the Brew Society and is called the Martha Brown Eyes (12%). It is a strong dark beer in quadrupple style with secondary fermentation in the bottle. It is inspired by the best beers from the Belgian Trappist brewers.
The first taste impression was of marzipan and coffee flavour. It was quite hard to put a finger on it’s flavour but the brewers website helped out a lot. A pleasant fruity notes of apple, candied pear, ripe strawberry and cherries with a slightly spicy touch of anise, liqourice, caramel, coffee and chocolate. Drinking this beer and with these flavours in mind you can definitly say the description is accurate. The anise, liqourice and caramel are more present then the fruits but if you take a good sip you will notice the rest of the flavours.
We loved the beer and its unique strong flavour. If we ever come acrose this beer again we will most definitly bring it back home!
Let us know if you have ever tried the Martha Brown Eyes or any of their beers?

]]>The post Jopen – Is That Spelt Ryeght – Beer review appeared first on Nick's Honest.
]]>Is That Spelt Ryeght is already our last barrel aged beer from our beer box from brewery Jopen. This Porter has matured for more than 400 days in Scottish Glenburgie & Auchroisk whiskey barrels and it has an alcoholpercentage of 11%. Moreover, it is brewed with English hops which are 50% spelt- and 50% rye malt.
Is That Spelt Ryeght has aromas from raisins and wood and it definitely has a caramelly taste. Moreover, the colour of this beer is brown/black and it has a smooth whiskey flavour. Despite its high alcoholpercentage, it is a really easy beer to drink. We especially tasted caramel and whiskey in this beer and it tasted rather sweet than bitter.
It was a delicious beer to drink and therefore we rate this beer a 4/5.
