]]>A powerful tripel with a fresh taste and a citrusy character. These are the characteristics from the beer: ‘Paapje Tripel’ from brewery CavĂ©.
Brewery CavĂ© is a local brewery from Voorschoten and they brew beautiful craft beers. The Paapje Tripel is named after ‘de Papenlaan’ and ‘de Papewegse Polder’ which are located in Voorschoten. This beer is easy to drink due to its smooth taste and it has a slightly bitter aftertaste. You definitely taste the flavour of hop in this beer and because it has has citrusy character, it also tasted quite spicy.
We absolutely loved it! Therefore we rate this beer a 4/5.

]]> Before we start this review, we would like to say to everyone: stay strong, help each other where possible and listen to the government and experts advice about the corona (COVID-19) pandemic.
In the meanwhile, we will keep on posting our weekly reviews. We would love to hear how you are doing so feel free to comment on our post or sent us a message.
The next review from our visit to Brugge is Brouwerij de Halve Maan (Brewery the Crescent Moon). Did you know that this brewery brews the (famous) “Brugse Zot” and “Straffe Hendriks”?
The brewery is located near the heart of Brugge and it excists since 1856. The brewery is still operational on its original location which is very special. To produce more beer, they even build (an crowed funded) a pipeline for the beer to transport the beer underneath Brugge to the botteling factory just outside the city.
We would have never knew all these facts without the XL- tour that the brewery offered!
The tour started at the, currently used, brewing kettles. Our guide told us about the process and how the beer flows through all four of the brewing kettles. She told us how to use each one and how it contributes to the final product, beer.
Our next stop was at the top of the building of the brewery. This might be one of the best views there is of Brugge. You could see the whole city and all it’s assets.
Our tour ended at the bar in the basement. Since we did the XL tour, we got an unfiltered Brugse Zot, a Brugse dubble and we had the choice of a Straffe Hendriks triple or quadruple. We never drank a Straffe Hendriks and it was amazing to finally drink a quadruple beer!
The tour was fantastic and very informative and the guide did a fantastic job at explaining everything about the brewery and answering all the questions from our group. We loved it!
If you are planning to travel to Brugge, you definitely shouldn’t skip a tour at the Brouwerij de Halve Maan!

]]>Voorschotens Blond (6,5%) is one of the 3 beers from Brouwerij Voorschoten that we received recently. The Blond is a single hop blonde with a fresh and spicy aftertaste like no other beer!
After the first sip of the beer, we were definitely surprised by its flavour. It was not something we were already familiar with. The taste was quite spicy for a blond beer which was a surprise to us. We liked the taste of the beer, but we have tasted better beers from this brewery like their triple.
Therefore we rate the flavour 7.
The design is actually similar to the old design of the triple from this brewery. Therefore we think that this design could stand out a lot more if it would get an upgrade.
Because of this, we give the design the same score as the triple which was a 6.
In the end, we really liked the beer but we loved the other beers from the brewery a bit more. But if you are into some unique flavours and spiciness, than this beer is definitely something you should try!

]]>Today’s beer review is about another amazing beer from Breugem the Heet & Stout. This was the second beer we drank from our beer box.
We weren’t quite sure what to expect from this beer except that it’s a stout and probably spicy. Well we weren’t wrong. The first sip we took overwhelmed us with the different flavours. As someone who loves unique beers, this one is definitely a must try.
We were so impressed by the flavour of the beer that we rated it a 9 out of 10! As we are used to the design is on point. Red colour to indicate it’s spicy ingredient with the small pepers above the “Zaanse sambal”. An 8 out of 10.
For our beer enthusiast:
Mout: Maris Otter Pale Ale, Brown, Black, Crystal
Hop: Willamette, Marynka
Gist: Lallemand London Divers: tinctuur obv wodka 50% met gerookte pepers, Habanero, Naga Jolokia en rode chili
Bitterheid: 42 EBU
Alcoholpercentage: 8%
Once again a beautifull and unique beer of the brewers of Brouwerij Breugem.
Cheers!

]]>Our previous beer review was about the Pale Ale from a local brewery named Brouwerij Voorschoten. Not only did they provide us the Pale Ale, they provided us with two more beers. One of them is was the Triple which is the subject for our review for today. The Triple (8,4%) was the first beer of the brewery. It has a sweet, fresh and bitter flavour and a beautiful amber colour.
The rich flavour of the beer is delicious and it is a treat to drink this beer. We will definitely drink this beer again!
Therefore we give the flavour a 8/10.
The label of the bottle is an old design and they have already redesigned the bottle. The design was simple but clear. Therefore we give the design a 6/10.
We love the brewery and we are continuing to support them and try out their new beers!

]]>Ay, Ay, Caramba! Brewery Breugem launched their new Mexican Lager and we had the opportunity to be one of the first persons to give it a try!
The Caramba has a low alcohol percentage of 3,5% and is therefore perfect to drink with warm weather. We both loved the beer! Luckily for us, we were able to drink a few at the launch!
The beer has a fresh and fruity taste which makes it very refreshing to drink. It also hasn’t got a bitter aftertaste which is very nice! Since Ay, Ay, Caramba is now available I would say, go get yourself some bottles and enjoy this beer with some friends (and with a sombrero on your head of course )! Don’t forget to swing by at their socials at @brouwerijbreugem
